Improving the management of side effects, and consequently, adherence to medication regimens, is critical to improving outcomes among patients with chronic conditions and multiple medications. One of the collaborating faculty members has designed an iPad application that identifies the frequency and severity of side effects experienced by patients. The desired outcomes of this pilot include an enhanced understanding and identification of resolution strategies for implementation barriers along with a greater understanding of the frequency and severity of side effects and the extent to which side effects are associated with medication adherence.
