The Indiana CTSI offers summer research opportunities for high school, undergraduate and medical students interested in assisting faculty members in clinical and laboratory research.

Our program provides funds for up to:

  • 26 medical students,
  • 8 undergraduate students, and
  • 40 high school students.

Participants include medical students from the IU School of Medicine, undergrads from Indiana University and Notre Dame universities, and high schools throughout the central Indiana region.

Program partners include the IU School of Medicine Student Research Program in Academic Medicine (SRPinAM), IUPUI Center for Research and Learning and Indianapolis Project SEED, a non-profit organization that provides economically disadvantaged students access to educational opportunities in the sciences.

Past participants, including high school students, have seen their names included in prestigious medical journals, and many have gone on to careers as physicians, researchers, pharmacists and nursing doctorates, including a majority who’ve stayed in Indiana.
