CHeP partners with community health coalitions to learn and share best practices as well as successes. CHeP creates integration and coordination of efforts to increase capacity building and development of community health coalitions. Specifically CHeP is involved in the following initiatives:
Community Development through Purdue Extension works within and across communities and coalitions regularly to enhance efforts, facilitate workshops and assist with grant writing.
Community Health Coalition Development Program (CHCDP) is assessing, supporting and expanding health coalitions across the state.
Extension Community Health Coalition Capacity Building Team is within Purdue Extension to increase support for local coalitions.
High Obesity Prevention Project is a CDC funded initiative to address environment, community coalitions, access to healthy food and opportunities for physical activity in Indiana.
Indiana Healthy Weight Initiative (IHWI) is a strong partner of CHeP’s. IHWI is working to enhance coalitions in Indiana specifically related to obesity prevention.
Purdue Nutrition Education Program (SNAP-Ed) Community Wellness Coordinators collaborate with community partners and coalitions on broader community change that involves policy, system and environmental initiatives.
