The Indiana Biobank is a statewide initiative, co-developed by Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health to collect blood specimens.   The Indiana Biobank is a collection of biological samples (like blood, urine, and tissue) from individuals matched with their electronic health information. Researchers use biobanks to study genetic factors in health and disease. Researchers use the samples and information to find new and/or better treatments for diseases and health conditions.IU Health patients can participate in this effort by donating a blood sample. These samples are collected at the time of a routine blood draw for their doctor. The Indiana Biobank can also use blood specimens left over from another draw. The goal of the project is to enroll 300,000 IU Health patients over the next five years.Collected samples and medical information are made available to scientists who are performing research that may lead to new or advanced medical treatments. We hope these discoveries will help improve the health of Hoosiers and the community.   Watch this video to learn more:

DO YOU HAVE A CHILD AGE 27 - 32 MONTHS? Join Our Study!   Researchers at Purdue University are inviting families with toddlers (27 - 32 months) to join a study exploring how children learn language over time.    We plan to follow families as their children grow from 27-32 months to four years old.  Families who take part will help us learn about the many ways children can succeed at language learning.  We want to improve how we identify which children should receive additional support before school.

Why is this study being done? The purpose of this study is to image the brain using MRI. The brain naturally changes with age, but the causes behind these changes are largely unknown. We are developing new imaging technology to early detect small changes in the brain. The goal of our study is to increase our understanding of how the brain – specifically, its CSF flow dynamic – naturally changes with age. If proven successful, the new imaging tool can help early diagnose Alzheimer’s disease. Who can take part in this study?Healthy adults, ages 35 and older older, who do not have a history of neurodegenerative disorder, chemotherapy or radiation therapy, or previous brain surgery.
