Join the Martinsville environmental Community Action Project (MeCAP) Study!
What is this study about?Researchers from Purdue University, Indiana University, and University of Illinois Chicago are partnering with the community of Martinsville, IN to address concerns about the contamination of tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and other toxic chemicals in indoor air and water, and the number of cancer cases in Martinsville. This study will:Test home air and waterTest exhaled breathTest cognition and visionConduct surveys, focus groups, and interviewsInvestigate cancer ratesWe hope the results of this study provide valuable information on the amount of PCE exposure in Martinsville, potentially related health effects, and provide a plan to help address these risks.Who can take part?At this time, we are accepting households that have received our study postcard invitation (see example below). **However, if you are 18 years or older, live in Martinsville, IN and would like to contacted if we have more slots become available in the future, please fill out the screener at the bottom of this page to be added to our contact list.
