Accelerating Clinical and Translational Research
The Indiana CTSI Clinical Research Center (CRC) provides space, nursing, and sample processing support to conduct academic and industry sponsored clinical research studies for both inpatient and outpatient visits. The program maintains facilities at both Indiana and Purdue universities.
Clinical Research Center at IUPUI The Indiana CTSI Clinical Research Center at IUPUI conducts both adult and pediatric protocols and supports both PHS funded protocols (A studies) and Industry funded studies (D studies). The center is located on the fifth floor of the Indiana University (IU) Hospital on the IU School of Medicine campus. IU Hospital is a component of IU Health, which manages IU Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children, and Methodist Hospital of Indiana. [Directions]Facilities comprise a 13,606-sq.-ft. area, with 10 inpatient rooms, 14 outpatient rooms, an inpatient nurses’ station, an outpatient reception area, a metabolic kitchen, clinical support offices, administrative offices, conference room/library space, and storage space. The center also manages a separate pool of three research nurse coordinators, whose services can be accessed by investigators for specific protocols, and a fully equipped reception laboratory for receiving, handling and distributing all biological samples generated by the protocols. This center is fully supported by all IU Health patient services; it is contiguous with acute medical services to which it has full access, but remains geographically self-contained.

The restructure and merger of the former General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) into the Indiana CTSI Clinical Research Center creates a more streamlined submission and approval process and independent advisory committee, as well as improves protocols support capabilities for a large number of diverse investigators and protocols.
