The Center for Medical Genomics is a full-service Affymetrix Core Laboratory, equipped for measuring gene expression, SNP and CNV genotyping, and tiling arrays for measurement of gene expression or epigenetic modifications. We consult on experimental design, accept samples of total RNA for gene expression measurements, and process them in a balanced design through the collection of data, with great attention to quality control. We also offer consultation on data analysis. In addition, the CMG offers high throughput genotyping for candidate genes, using the Sequenom MassArray system. We consult on assay design including bioinformatics assistance for SNP selection, and handle all of the biochemistry through the generation and calling of genotypes. We have provided these services to investigators at IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, and other Indiana universities and beyond, and are a core laboratory for the NIH-funded Integrated Neuroscience Initiative on Alcoholism. |
