Community and Health Engagement Program

The Community Health Engagement Program (CHEP) will transform the capacity of the Indiana CTSI to engage community health care providers and Indiana's residents in clinical and translational research. This program will utilize innovative strategies for communication and education in such areas as community-based participatory research, translating research into practice, and health disparities. The CHEP will leverage the unique capacity of IUSM, the only medical school in the state, to align existing practice-based research networks for innovative, community-based studies built upon participatory research principles and strengthened by nationally recognized health information technologies. Aligning and integrating IU and Purdue resources, the CHEP will ensure community participation in all phases of translational research.
