William K. Barnett oversees life sciences and biomedical research technologies at Indiana University and the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM). As the Senior Manager of Life Sciences, Bill oversees the development and implementation of research technology programs for biological research including high performance computing (HPC) applications, analytical pipelines, genomics research and data security, including HIPAA alignment. As the Director of the Advanced IT Core at the IUSM, Bill oversees the development and management of biomedical applications, including HPC and applications development in support of health care research. As the Director of Information Architectures for the Indiana CTSI, he oversees the development of collaborative technologies for the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Dr. Barnett previously served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at the Field Museum of Natural History, where he oversaw the development of collections-based digital library initiatives and genomics research technologies. Previously at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, he oversaw the development of the institutional infrastructure and the growth of core analytical imaging facilities. Dr. Barnett has a BA in Anthropology (College of William and Mary) and a MA and Ph.D. in Archaeology (Boston University). |
