Pre-Solicitation Announcement: Clinical Research Network Feasibility Awards (CRNFA)

Westat in collaboration with the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Roadmap IECRN Initiative invites currently funded Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Institutions to submit proposals for Clinical Research Network Feasibility Awards (CRNFA).

CTSA Investigators are eligible to apply who can demonstrate and provide synergy with ongoing Government funded clinical research networks and clinical practice networks; e.g., Agency for Health Research Quality (AHRQ), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), NIH, etc. Proposals should focus on the following 3 areas; Translational Science Dissemination Research, Cost-Benefit/Cost-Effectiveness Research, and Community Engagement Research. The goal of these awards will be to create new collaborations among existing research networks (e.g., CTSA, Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI), Practice-Based Research Networks (PBRN), Prevention Research Centers Promoting Practice-Based Research (PRC), Community Health Centers (CHC), HMO Research Network (HMORN), etc.) that would result in mutual collaborative benefit and provide lasting and sustainable impact.

Prospective offerors must submit a letter of intent to bid and /or any written questions regarding the solicitation by October 15, 2008. Responses to all questions will be made available to all prospective offerors no later than November 3, 2008. Final proposals are due no later than November 13, 2008 with contract award expected on February 1, 2009. It is anticipated that a total of $600,000 will be available to support approximately 6 awards for a maximum of one year. Westat reserves the right to issue multiple or no awards from this Request for Proposals.
