Purdue Project Development Team

The Purdue Project Development Team is a multidisciplinary committee of researchers designed to assist investigators in transforming their ideas into well-designed translational projects. Committee members may help investigators with research plan development, pilot funding, collaboration with other investigators and access to core resources at Indiana University, Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame. The team's primary strengths include regulatory issues and intellectual property concerns.

This PDT meets based upon investigator submissions for evaluation and assistance. For more information on how to submit a proposal to this PDT, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

How We Can Help

Example 1: Jessica Huber, an associate professor of speech, language and hearing sciences at Purdue University, developed a prototype wearable device that helps patients with Parkinson’s disease patients speak with greater volume. After seeking assistance from the Purdue Project Development Team, Huber received $10,000 from the Indiana CTSI to collaborate on a smaller and more marketable device with biomedical engineers at the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University. In addition, Huber’s team is working with specialists from the Purdue Office of Technology Commercialization to create a strategy for intellectual property development. Get the whole story.

Example 2: A faculty member in the department of foods and nutrition sought assistance from the Purdue Project Development Team in order to review an unsuccessful grant application. While meeting with the review team, senior faculty suggest the faculty member seek support from a different source, and advised her to re-frame her proposal to address a different clinical need. The faculty member submitted the revised proposal to the American Heart Association, and received a positive response with funding.

To submit for PDT assistance, please fill out a preclinical or clinical application form.
